Moxibustion Time Requirements

1. Moxibustion can be performed year-round without seasonal restrictions.

2. Mugwort is a pure yang substance that warms and unblocks meridians, dispels cold and dampness, and supplements yang energy. Summer marks nature’s peak yang vitality, where the combined yang heat of both elements enhances efficacy. Winter represents the heaviest cold in both nature and the human body, making winter moxibustion particularly crucial for those with cold constitutions.

Moxibustion Time Requirements

3. Within a day, mornings are optimal. Yang energy rises in the morning, peaks at noon, and gradually diminishes thereafter. Specific timing varies by individual: ① For regulating spleen and stomach function: 9-11 AM ② For insomnia: evening moxibustion is more effective.

4. Routine health maintenance has no fixed time requirement. Duration should be guided by skin changes: Stop when the skin gradually reddens and develops a rosy flush.

For most wellness practices, there are no special time restrictions.
